Wettable Sulphur

This
water souble powder can be used any time to lower soil
pH.
To lower soil pH by application directly to bare
soil:
The 30 lb bag of wettable sulphur
can be used one of two ways: 1) Either dry in a drop
spreader, or 2) "Wet" - diluted
in water and sprayed from a pump sprayer.
1. For use DRY in a drop spreader use
3 lbs of sulphur per 100 square feet of area. This will
result in a lowering in pH of 1.0, or for example, from
7.0 to 6.0.
2. For use WET in
a pump sprayer use 1 lb. of sulphur to 2 gallons of water.
Mix well in a 5 gallon bucket before pouring mixture
into your pump sprayer. Apply all of the mixture over
a 200 square foot area. Soak the bare soil thoroughly
and use all the mixture to lower the pH 1.0 or (from
7.0 - 6.0 for example).
For use in helping to minimize grass, weeds, and
or fungus in areas with pre-existing moss:
Always apply WET in
a pump sprayer for this application. Dilute ¼ cup
of sulphur in 5 gallons of water. Mix well and pour into
pump sprayer. This can be applied 2-3 times per year.
If you are not seeing results within 2 months, up the
concentration of sulphur until you see dieback of the
grasses and weeds.
HINTS AND TIPS:
Avoid windy days for application. Best time of day for
application is in early evening when temperatures are below
80 degrees.
When diluting the powder in water mix thoroughly in a
5 gallon bucket.
Always clean out pump sprayer with clean water after use.
pH Test Kit
